PORCH is aN *award-winning full-service boutique production house operating between K’emk’emeláy (Vancouver), Tkaronto (Toronto) and Tiohtià:ke (Montreal)
we seek innovative approaches to visual storytelling that’s rooted in a playful DIY ethos. Each of our productions are an opportunity to experiment with new ideas and new modes of expression. As producers, we help oversee all stages of a production, depending on what your needs may be.
Our work has been featured in publications such as Vogue, Dazed, The New York Times, Vice, Pitchfork, FADER and more, and has been short listed for the prestigious Prism Prize. Having developed deep within the heart of the Canadian music & art scenes, PORCH brings a fresh nation-wide perspective to the visual media production landscape through its deep emersion in underground culture, with many of our works carefully balancing the line between commercial media and visual art. Our experimental dance shorts, for example, have screened in festivals and galleries around the world, including Water Under the Bridge, featuring artist/performer Jessica Karuhanga where it premiered at the SPE Media Festival in Denver, CO and took home a Critics Pick award.
With the completion of our first original narrative short film, Hello My Name is Beaver, getting prepped for the festival circuit in late 2024/early 2025, as as well as a hybrid unscripted/scripted series currently in development, PORCH Media is preparing ourselves for a graceful arrival into the film & TV space.
